Bonnersfield Blues Boom

The Bonnersfield Blues Boom are Wez Westgate, David Brewis and Peter Brewis – a new band inspired by the British Blues Boom experiment of the 1960s and the songs created by the pioneers of the form such as Skip James, Lead Belly, Rev. Gary Davis and Son House. The question posed by the British bands of the 1960s seems to have been, “How can we arrange and play these wonderful songs in a way that is personal, while still retaining some of the essence of the original?”. The question remains the same for the Bonnersfield Blues Boom

The Ship Isis. Home to The Vaux Rom, an intimate live venue in one of Sunderland’s oldest pubs.
